Tis Sprung

My roomate came home with a hyacinth today. Ahh spring is here. To celebrate I spent Saturday in the garden, tidying, sorting cleaning, dreaming about what my garden beds will look like four months from now.
Thinking about soil amending on all levels, for my own plot, which thrives on table scraps, and for an article I have to write about container gardening. The newsletter's readership is for a type of busy professional who is likely going to want to buy soil. Asking them to get their hands dirty seems already a big step. What friendly store bought soil can I recommend?
Getting people to understand soil and soil mixing is a foundation of good gardening practice. At the sametime, it's a step by step process to turning people on to growing their own food. If people need soil out of a bag solutions to get them started, then so be it. Have to admit though, I don't know much about the soil industry and how sustainable it is.
Thinking about the co-created book option this site offers. I like the sound of "The Book of Dirt."
